Is it just me or is anyone else completely confused as to what's happening with professional athletes? The latest news on the NBA front puts Gilbert Arenas and his teammate, Javaris Crittenton, at a standoff with guns drawn. This apparently over a card game. According to media outlets in DC, trouble started about a week ago when guns were found in Arenas' locker. Team officials were notified and Arenas was questioned about the weapons at which time he explained, he'd brought them to work to get them out of his house. He'd just had his third child and thought the weapons should be removed from his home. Fast forward a week and we find Arenas and Crittenton in a heated confrontation with weapons pointed at each other.
Arenas has taken to his Twitter page to say the media has certainly blown the incident out of proportion but I'd be curious to know how can you blow GUNS out of proportion? Either he brought weapons to the Verizon Center (for whatever reason) or he didn't. Either he drew down on Crittenton, or he didn't. There are no shades of gray in a scenario involving weapons.
As of today, there is an on-going investigation into what exactly happened but both gentleman were still on the court (San Antonio vs Wiz). How can that be though? Arenas brought guns to work! At best he should be suspended until the investigation is completed, at worst, shouldn't there be serious consequences associated with jeopardizing the safety of the workplace? What if everyone brought guns to work?
